5 Loaves: 2 Fish Ministry is a faith-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization launched in 2023 to address food insecurity in Lincoln Parish, Louisiana.

"Then the King will say...For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink...I assure you: Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me."
The Need
Data showed that many of our Lincoln Parish neighbors do not routinely have sufficient food. There are approximately 7,000 households in Lincoln Parish that are Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed (ALICE) according to the ALICE Report distributed by United Way. Many of these households do not get sufficient food which affects school and job performance as well as physical and mental health. To make matters worse, many lack the transportation needed to access available free and subsidized food.
If people can’t get to the food, we will bring the food to them. And the idea of a mobile food distribution network is born!
What Does a Meal look like?
Each meal consists of a hot main course, a hot side dish, bread, dessert, and water. We plan for 100 meals to be served at each event. Currently, the meals are take-home, but we plan to obtain tables and chairs so that people can dine together, helping to form communities and family togetherness over a shared meal.
The Future
Currently we are feeding approximately 100 residents in a take-home box at each event. With further support, we plan to obtain tables and chairs so that people can eat together and begin to form stronger communities with each other and with 5 Loaves: 2 Fish Ministry.
A food trailer is next on our needs list. That would be a very visible sign that we are in the neighborhood and allow more efficient storage and delivery of food to those who need it.
And the more donations, the more Lincoln Parish residents can be fed!
